The Helambu trek is a perfect short trek which is close to Kathmandu valley.This region is famous for its typical culture and tradition which is mixed of two different cultures,like Nepalis and Tibetan.The important points of this trek are walking through the rhododendron and bamboo forests,Scenery of snow caped mountains in the north border of Nepal,visiting some monasteries in different villages and magnificent cultivated terrace filed. Off course the exchange of experiences with the local peoples makes your trek complete and unforgettable.

Itinerary by days
Day 1: Welcome to Kathmandu airport by the agency and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2: Explore some of the historical monuments in Kathmandu,Swayamvhunath,Durbar square and bodnath. – Hotel.
Day 3: Departure early the morning by vehicle for Melamchi Bazaar.After the crossing a suspended bridge,we climb up through the forest towards village of kakani,(1995m)–Lodge.
Day 4: After passing through a pine forest,splendid view of the ranges of Langtang,Gaurishankar,Dorjee Lhakpa.Arrive at Sermathang for the lunch and visit the monastery of village in afternoon (2600m)–Lodge.
Day 5: Trek to Tarkeygyang walking through a pine and rhododendrons forest, a principal village of the Helambu Area. Visit of monastery and exploration of village in afternoon (2650m) – Lodge.
Day 6:We pass through the forest,terrace fields,villages and pastures by alternation.We cross the suspended bridge before climbing up to Melamchigaon.There is an old monastery to visit which is the sect of red hat.(2530m)-Lodge.
Day 7: Trek to Tharepati,all the time climb up through the forest of rhododendrons, pine and bamboo.(3650m) – Lodge.
Day 8: Trek to Kutumsang, wonderful views of the mountains and magnificent landscapes(2450m) – Lodge.
Day 9: We walk through some Tamangs villages to join Chisopani. Last superb views on Langtang and Jugal Himal ranges (2200m) – Lodge.
Day 10: Entry in the park of Shivapuri and trek to sundarijal villages,end of the trek and an hour of drive to kathmandu by private vehicle from Sundarijal (1460 m) to Kathmandu – Hotel.
Day 11: Visit of Pashupatinath,an ancient Hindu temple,a famous place of Hindu pilgrimage and place of cremation.We leave then for the magnificent city of Bhaktapur,20km from Kathmandu,one of the most beautiful city of the country,a true alive museum which is founded at the 12th century,this city kept its authenticity and reputed for woodcarvers,potters,jewelers,work of copper and bronze.
Day 12: Visit of Patan Durbar square,former capital city and city of art.Then we visit the village of Bungamati,the typical village of newars. Many workshops of handy crafts,like woodcarvings and metal works.We continue on foot in the middle of terrace fields cropping to the village of Khokana which seems to be left straight of middle ages.In the village we can see the women spinning wool.Return to Kathmandu-Hotel.
Day 13:Free morning in Kathmandu and transfer to airport.
